Order of Suvorov
Established: 29.07.1942 by Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet.
Awarded to: commanders of Red Army for exceptional service in directing combat operations, outstanding leadership, organizational ability, and perseverance leading to decisive victory in battle.
Grades or repetitive conferment: order has three grades. 1st grade was awarded to front and army commanders and their staffs. 2nd grade to corps, division and brigade commanders and their staffs for planning a battle which, as a result of a suprise and decisive attack, lead to the destruction of a numerically superior enemy. 3rd grade to regimental commanders, their chiefs of staff, and battalion and company commanders.
