Medal for the Victory over Germany
Established: 09.05.1945 by Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet.
Awarded to: all servicemen of the Soviet and allied armies and employed civilians (such as in military administration departments, military warehouses, etc.) who participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War (WWII).
Notes: specific length of service was required - 3 months for servicemen and 6 months for employed civilians.
